This is the 11th installment of the annual conference of Sino-German business community since its foundation in 2013. Experts and professionals will come together to share their best practices and discuss cutting-edge topics in corporate financial management.

About the Sino-German Controlling Forum
Excellent controlling capacities and qualified controlling personnel are key factors for a company's success, especially in China. While operations in China are becoming increasingly complex, and competition is intensifying, there is a shortage of qualified controllers as well as a lack of knowledge of professional controlling practices. The Sino-German Controlling Forum wants to raise the awareness for the role controlling plays in an organization and simulate the exchange of the latest controlling trends and approaches among the Sino-German business community.
The original idea for the Sino-German Controlling Forum was born in 2013 in dialogue between Dr. Zhen Huang, former managing partner of Shanghai De Chen Enterprise Management Consulting Co. Ltd., Mr. Bernd Pichler who was at that time senior executive at Shanghai Volkswagen, and Prof. Dr. Utz Schaeffer from the German Business School WHU Vallendar. They were activists of "Controlling in China", which was at that time an initiative with the objective to promote the dialog between German and Chinese business and finance professionals interested in modern, efficient management accounting and controlling practice.
The 1st forum was held in Shanghai in October 2013. It was co-organized by Shanghai De Chen Enterprise Management Consulting Co. Ltd., CA Controller Akademie from Germany, the International Association of Controllers (ICV), and the Shanghai National Accounting Institute.
Through the involvement of the German Chamber of Commerce in China Shanghai which has taken over the role of co-organizer since 2014, the Sino-German Controlling Forum has enhanced the industry focus and put a stronger emphasis on building a bridge between German and Chinese controlling practices.
From 2021 on, DUSA European Association Suzhou has taken over the role of co-organizer from German Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. It cooperates with Corporate Performance One, a management consulting and training company based in Munich/Germany, in providing the Forum as a leading annual event for finance and controlling professionals as well as non-finance senior executives and managers in Sino-German business community in East China.

Workshop A "European ESG rules and its implications for Chinese Companies"
Bin HuangTo start this journey, audiences will be introduced to the history of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG), its important factors and a few examples on how they impact financial value. Then, we will make a deep dive into climate change and the risks and opportunities that it creates for businesses in the 21st century.
The journey will continue with an important discussion of European Sustainability Reporting Standards as it sets standard requirements to all companies that need or wish to publish their sustainability report. Key questions will be discussed including who is in the scope, and what will ESRSs require the entity to report. Purpose is to prepare audiences from related parties for the sustainability report audit.
The journey will end up with a fun team discussion on pre-nominated questions that help the audience to recap the contents and to think about further potentials within their own companies.

Senior Vice President & CFO Greater China at Infineon Technologies China Co., Ltd.Over the past twenty six years Thomas held several Finance positions in Germany, Malaysia, Singapore and China, for companies in the semiconductor (Infineon, Qimonda) and EDA (Mentor Graphics) industry.
In his current role, Thomas is Member of the Regional Management Board for Greater China Region and is functionally responsible for Accounting, Controlling, Tax, Treasury and Compliance. In addition, he has a supervisory role for Legal, Business Continuity, Procurement, Audit, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and local Joint Venture activities.
Prior to his position in Shanghai, Thomas was in charge of the Regional Controlling for Asia Pacific in Singapore where he implemented SAP4/HANA in Singapore and Munich as Business Project Lead.
He worked as Chief Financial Officer at Infineon Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Infineon’s largest
Back-End Manufacturing site, responsible for Controlling and Cost Down activities of Power and
Discrete products.
During the time in Malaysia, he was also a member of the board of directors and president of the
Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC), where he was strongly involved in
implementing a vocational training program (TVET/DVT) according to German standards in Malaysia.
Before leaving Germany in 2009, he gained experience in the EDA (Electronic Design Automation)
industry at Mentor Graphics and in the Memory Semiconductor industry at Qimonda/Infineon.

Together with the team, he has achieved great success in improving the region operation’s energy efficiency, and in adopting alternative countermeasures in reducing region’s co2 e.. Mr. Huang has rich experience in improving operations in manufacturing environment. He studied logistics engineering in Tongji University and later production and operations management in Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In his former career as a consultant in Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute, he helped many international companies like BOSCH, MAHLE, SIEMENS in their successful path to excellent and sustainable operations.

If you register for an event but can't attend, please do let us know in advance. If you cancel 3 days before the event, there will be NO cancellation fee. DUSA will charge 50% of the registration fee if you cancel within 2 days, and 100% for cancellation within 24 hours.
100% refund of tickets if the event is cancelled under the case of force majeure ( such as government pandemic control on Covid-19 cases).
