The New Round of IBSS Brown Bag

Dear DUSA Members and Friends,

A big thank you for supporting the Brown Bag "Lunch and Learn" Sessions in the past months and we are delighted to present you the new round of brown bag talks from DUSA Annual Partner: International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU).

In this new round of brown bag talks, there will be five sessions with timely, concrete and practical topics concerning management.

The First Session

Topic: Enhancing the Agility of Managing Employees in the "VUCA" World

The concept of agility emerged in light of the fast changes that seem to be as dramatic as the industrial and cultural revolutions in history. Extraordinary technological change induced changes in economics, political and social context globally. Adding to changes brought by human world evolution, environment change further brings uncertainty such as the global outbreak of COVID-19. Over the past few months, it has created profound impact on business world globally. We witnessed rise and fall of companies and industries, business closure & creation, and disruption of workforce. Whilst China is in its recovery from the pandemic, we cannot ignore the damage that needs repairing is multi-folds. This is also felt by managers and employees and hence traditional workforce structure and people management face challenges more than ever. Where there are changes and disruptions, there are opportunities and breakthrough. This seminar will thus introduce the concept of agile working and how it can add value to company's sustainable development despite of this 'new norm'.
