How to Register
Dear DUSA Members,
The Suzhou Executive Academy (SEA) Spring-Summer Seminars provided by our annual partner: International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) now come to the March Session themed "Beautiful China".
The seminars that are composed of 7 sessions (see below) are open to DUSA members. Each member company may send one person free of charge per seminar. If there is more than one attendee, please refer to the flyer below. Events will be based on "first come, first served" principle.

March Session
Title: Beautiful China
The goal of building a Beautiful China has been recently recalled by President Xi in many of his speeches. What does it mean Beautiful China? It is only appearance or it is also linked to the concept of a having a more holistic approach which at the end is related to quality of life as a whole? What are the possible implications and opportunities that this idea of Beautiful China creates for the business environment? The aim of our seminar is to debate about these questions with an experienced and multidisciplinary panel of speaker.

Richard Hsu
Adjunct Professor at Tongji University, College of Design and Innovation
Richard Hsu was born in Shanghai, educated in Europe and US, professionally trained in New York, evenly distributed his life into 5 places - China, Europe, US, Japan and back to China again. Richard has worked, learned and collaborated in a number of industries. In 2003, Hsu returned to his hometown Shanghai to open Nike's advertising agency, he introduced TED and TEDx to China in 2009 and has been TED's ambassador to China, he founded Pan-Asia Network with 28 Asian and Western cities in 2012. He has worked for a number of years under Unesco Creative Cities Network, Unesco World Heritage, and Harvard Berkman Centre.
Richard has been the adjunct professor at Tongji University, College of Design and Innovation for the past 9 years, and an advisor to the Singularity University, Shanghai Chapter.

Baldini
Associate Professor of Art Theory and Aesthetics at School of Arts of Nanjing University
Andrea Baldini is Associate Professor of Art Theory and Aesthetics at the School of Arts of Nanjing University and Director of the NJU Centre for Sino-Italian Cultural Studies. A native of Italy, he studied as a Fulbright Fellow at the Department of Philosophy at Temple University in Philadelphia (USA). He is also the coordinator of the Jinling Artist-in-Residence Program, whose aim is to promote cultural exchange between China and Italy. Since 2018, he is a board member of AAIIC, the Association of Italian Scholars in China, and Young Ambassador of the Jiangsu Province.
He is generally interested in how creativity can influence our everyday lives and practices, and in particular the nature, uses, and functions of public spaces.
Brill just released his monograph "A Philosophy Guide to Street Art and the Law."
Keping Wu
Associate Professor at the Department of China Studies at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University
Keping Wu is Associate Professor at the Department of China Studies in Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. Previously she held teaching and research positions at Sun Yat-sen University, National University of Singapore and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Trained as a cultural anthropologist, she did ethnographic research among the ethnic groups in Northwest Yunnan and urbanizing population in the Suzhou Industrial Park. Her research mainly engages with the question of ethnic and cultural diversity, issues of urbanization and change, as well as tangible and intangible cultural heritages in transformation. Her most recent work is a book coauthored with Robert P. Weller and C. Julia Huang, Religion and Charity: The Social Life of Goodness in Chinese Societies (Cambridge 2018)

Professor Roberto Dona
Professor Roberto Dona is an academic and business practitioner with vast experience of working in China. He is the Associate Dean for Professional Engagement and a Professor of Practice in Management at IBSS. He is also Honorary Professor at School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of University of Chinese Academy of Science and Adjunct Professor at MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business. Professor Dona has a strong international exposure having worked in Russia, Bulgaria, Argentina, the USA and China. His fields of interested are on Internationalization and Innovation Processes in Asia and their managerial implications.

About SEA
The Suzhou Executive Academy (SEA) is a unique education platform created by International Business School Suzhou(IBSS) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) for business leaders in the Yangtze River Delta region. SEA events bring together a community of like-minded business and academic professionals and offer a global insight into a variety of business issues, as well as the unique access to a high-level executive network.
China's multifaceted economy combined with a complex and changeable regulatory environment is a mix of both opportunities and challenges for those who are doing business, working and studying in China. Thus, the SEA's mission is to seek out and to debate the most pressing and relevant business, economic and social issues nationally and internationally. Then, combine all of this with the latest academic points of view (created through in-depth knowledge and research) and the practical know-how of key individuals from public and leading private organisations.
The SEA is organized in regular evening seminars – one every three to four weeks from 6pm to 8:30pm - during which a topic is presented and debated among the participants in a friendly academic environment which allows managers and entrepreneurs to meet peers representing different industries in an open platform created to debate and discuss together common points of interest.
The SEA aims to become the focal point of the business community of Suzhou and the Yangtze River Delta region!
