Dear DUSA Members and Friends,

We are delighted to present you the second session of the Online Brown Bag "Lunch and Learn Sessions" from DUSA Annual Partner: International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU).

The Second Session

Topic:  Soft Skills - The Key to Project Success

Join IBSS Senior Associate Professor, Dr Raymond Young, for a focus on project management to argue that the key to success is through soft-skills. Firstly, research will be presented to show that current certifications are not having the desired impact on success rates. Then the latest developments in the project management field will be presented to explain that current certifications focus too much on technical skills and not enough on strategy and soft-skills. The presentation will finish by introducing a tool to address this issue. The discussion will explore whether this finding can be applied to the business disciplines in general, whether there is an opportunity to collaborate on the delivery of soft-skills and for XJTLU to take a leadership role in professional education.
