We are delighted to invite you to attend the DUSA New Year Roundtable "China Economy and Business Outlook in 2023" at SCHOTT glass technologies (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. on February 9th.
The past 2022 was a year full of challenges. In 2023, the reopening of the world's second largest economy is set to have a significant impact on the global economy. At the same time, intensifying external geopolitical tensions and increasing policy uncertainty have posed raising concerns from businesses operating in the Chinese market. The uncertainty and opportunities of Chinese market in the new year will be the focus of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
We are happy to invite Mr. Weisi Xie, Shanghai Director at the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network (EICN) to give us a briefing which will consider challenges in the near term as well as economic and business outlook over the next year for China, based on the analytical work of the Economist Intelligence Unit to provide relevant information support to the formulation of long-term strategies in a complex and dynamic market environment for business leaders.
Meanwhile, the DUSA to business sentiment survey will be kicked off at the New Year Roundtable. Mr. Marshall Chen, Partner of FIDUCIA Strategy Advisory will introduce this survey to DUSA members.

Weisi Xie
Shanghai Director of Economist Intelligence Corporate Network (EICN)Weisi Xie is the Shanghai Director at the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network (EICN), and is responsible for engaging with top executives in the region on key economic and political issues as well as industry-specific analysis to support their businesses in the dynamic Chinese market.
Mr. Xie served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University before joining EICN. As a trained trade economist, his teaching and research mainly focused on the fields of international trade, industrial economics and economic development, with a particular emphasis on China’s economy in a global perspective. He also possesses extensive expertise in the non-profit sector through work experience with think tanks and international organizations, including the Shanghai Institute for National Economy and the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, where he contributed to multiple government counseling projects and policy studies. His work has appeared in leading academic journals as well as major economic policy publications.
Mr. Xie has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a B.A. in International Business from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.

Before joining Fiducia, Marshall worked for nearly ten years at companies in China including Google and the ERP company. Marshall holds an MBA from HKUST, speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English and is experienced in dealing with clients in a cross-cultural working environment.
