Dear DUSA Members and Friends,
DUSA wants to bring families together to learn more about and experience Chinese culture while relaxing through Culture Event.
The first ever Culture event will be held on October 15.
We will take you to visit the Six Arts Museum in the ancient town of Lili, where you can see, touch and experience the traditional Chinese folk culture up close, such as various ancient architectural components, antique furniture, wood and stone carvings, and artifacts that once belonged to ancient temples and houses. We will also take you to the Chinese Medicine Hall and experience the making of Chinese medicine sachet.
Mitch Dudek, the curator of Six Arts Museum. He came to China since 1980s. Over the past 40 years, Mitch has collected over 100,000 pieces of items. 40,000 pieces are now on display in the Six Arts Museum in Lili Town.
The name of the museum means: to make the six senses of sight, smell, taste, sound, touch and mental are pleasurable. Through this Culture Event, we can also learn more about the traditional Chinese folk culture.
So, how exactly did he collect these items one by one, and what is his story with traditional Chinese folk culture? Through this cultural event, we hope to bring people closer to Mitch and hear his story as well.
There is also a restaurant open next to the Six Arts Museum, as well as a hotel.
After the event, you can choose to go to the Liuyue Restaurant to taste the local specialties, or stay overnight at the Liuyue Zhuang Hotel to feel the unique feeling of being in a room decorated with traditional Chinese folklore furniture.
