Dear Valued Members of DUSA,

For 2020, we are going to put special focus on topics which are critical to the success of our members in and around Suzhou in form of Initiatives. Improving the efficiency in their manufacturing plants to stay globally competitive even with the raising costs in China has hereby highest priority. Smart Manufacturing Technologies have the potential bring big potential in terms of efficiency gain. But at the same time it remains a very big challenge especially to the smaller and medium size plants as most of our members have.

We found that there are no tailor-made and practical approaches available helping especially also the smaller ones of the SMEs with their transformation in a hands-on way. Therefore, we have started a cooperation with the Smart Manufacturing Application Sharing (abbr. SMAS) Forum in Suzhou. This independent network is entirely focusing specifically on this area and organizes related conferences, trainings and workshops. SMAS is also developing a special Application Guideline for the Implementation of Smart Manufacturing for these companies together with 8 partners initiated by the GAMI and ruhlamat in Suzhou.

We will start our cooperation as the Initiative "Smart Manufacturing" with a big conference in Suzhou on 24 October with high-level speakers from top research institutions and companies. We are also planning to hold Roundtables, Circles and trainings jointly related to the implementation of Smart Manufacturing. The next event will be a Roundtable on "5G in Manufacturing" to be held in the Smart-Factory Kunshan.

We are very pleased to invite you to participate in the 2nd Smart Manufacturing Application Sharing (abbr. SMAS) Forum that will be organized by SMAS and co-organized by DUSA. The forum will be held in Suzhou Industrial Park on 24th, Oct 2019. About 250-300 experts will attend this forum, who comes from manufacturing corporation, well-known university & Research Institute globally in Auto Parts, Medical, New Energy, Industrial goods industry etc and Investment corporation.
