Britta Modi joined the German Department of SSIS in 2022 where she is teaching the German programme in grades 1 and 2. Britta holds a translating degree from the FH Köln, Germany in English and Spanish and a Postgraduate Course in Teaching Languages from London Metropolitan University. After graduating Britta worked in a comprehensive school in London for 13 years teaching German and Spanish as foreign languages at secondary level. From 2013 to 2021, she worked in an international school in Bangkok, Thailand, where she continued to teach German and Spanish language acquisition couses in the Secondary school and she also ran a very successful German Home Language programme. From 2021 to 2022 she taught the IB DP German Language and Literature course at a boarding school in West Sussex in the UK

Luk Van Mensel is Associate Professor of Sociolinguistics and Associate Dean for Research at the School for Humanities and Social Sciences of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
He obtained his PhD in Linguistics in 2014 at the University of Namur, Belgium. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher for a joint UCLouvain-UNamur ARC project on CLIL education, and he was a visiting professor at KU Leuven. His research can broadly be subsumed under the header “language and society”, with a specific focus on both individual and societal multilingualism. His work is situated at the crossroads between sociolinguistics, sociology, anthropology, and language acquisition research. He has published on a variety of subjects, including multilingualism in the family, linguistic landscapes, economic aspects of multilingualism, language education policy, socio-affective factors and language learning, and bilingual education (CLIL).

Freddie Orozco is an English as an Additional Language (EAL) teacher and teacher trainer with over 15 years of experience working with multilingual learners. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Italian Studies from the University of Illinois Chicago, a Master's in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from Nova Southeastern University, and a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). As a native Spanish speaker who grew up bilingually in the United States, Freddie holds teaching licenses for teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in Hawaii and Washington DC. For over 13 years, he has taught English in South Korea at various levels, from young learners to adults, providing extensive professional development and teacher training. Currently teaching Grade 4 EAL in Suzhou, China, Freddie's research and teaching interests center around supporting students' socio-emotional wellbeing and academic success as they develop language proficiency, as well as educational technology, artificial intelligence, and innovations in language instruction

Florian Weihard is Industry 4.0 Specialist and Chief Technology Officer from Germany with extensive Engineering, Innovation and General Management background. As CTO, he is now responsible for the Innovation Management and Technology Development in ruhlamat Automation Technologies as well as for the Digitalization Division as GM of ruhlamat Smart Technologies. He is also Chairman of DUSA.
