We are delighted to invite you to attend the DUSA June Roundtable "Smart Manufacturing - Introduction of the Concept of the SMAS Application Guideline" on June 18, 2020.

This Roundtable topic is in cooperation with our partner SMAS. This is the 2nd event building on the DUSA Training "Value Stream Mapping" from the 27th of May.
Leveraging Smart Manufacturing technologies in manufacturing remains a very big challenge especially to the smaller (and medium) size plants as most of our DUSA members have. SMAS found, that there are no tailor-made and practical approaches available helping these companies with their transformation in a hands-on way. Therefore, SMAS has been developing a special Application Guideline for the implementation of Smart Manufacturing for these companies together with 5 partners. The Guideline is an approach to enable SMEs to understand where potentials for Digital Technologies are in their organizations and how to define a cheap and simple Proof-of-Concept to test the assumptions before actually buying and scaling an expensive solution throughout their companies.
In the presentation, SMAS will introduce the concept of the Guideline and present a first use case how it was applied in a manufacturing workshop.
After the Roundtable, a new "Smart Manufacturing" WeChat group will be established to continue the discussion, sharing of experiences, best practices and lessons learnt around Smart Manufacturing. Interested companies are welcome to join a newly setup WeChat group.

Mr. Florian Weihard
CTO at ruhlamat Automation Technologies (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.Florian Weihard is an Industry 4.0 Specialist and Chief Technology Officer with long Engineering and General Management experience. He has completed his mechanical engineering studies at OTH Regensburg, Germany in 2009. After starting his career as design engineer in the R&D in Germany in the same year, he moved to China in 2010. Over the following years, he set up and managed engineering offices and plants in China, Singapore, USA and Malaysia. Since 2015, he has been focusing on Industry 4.0 and Digitalization Technologies. As CTO, he is now responsible for the Innovation Management and Technology Development in ruhlamat Automation Technologies as well as for the Digitalization Division as GM of ruhlamat Smart Technologies. He is also the Co-initiator and Technology Expert of the Smart Manufacturing Application Sharing Forum as well as Vice Chair of DUSA European Association Suzhou. He was a selected candidate of Jiangsu High-Level Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Introduction Program and won the award of 2018 Jiangsu High-Level Innovation and Entrepreneurship High Skilled Talent.
Dr. Tobias Arndt
General Manager at GAMIDr. Tobias Arndt completed his industrial engineering studies at RWTH Aachen University (Germany) with a diploma in 2012. During that time, he also received his Master of Science at the Tsinghua University in Beijing. He was working as a research associate and project manager at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) for more than four years. Dr. Arndt conducted several research and consulting projects with industry related to production, logistics, and supply chain optimization. In his PhD thesis, he focused on quality control strategies in global manufacturing networks. Since 2017, Dr. Arndt serves as the General Manager of GAMI, establishing fruitful Sino-German collaborations between industry and research in the field of smart manufacturing.
