Current market conditions are driving up the cost of many raw materials.
Many companies report a general increase on orders and a positive trend for this beginning of 2021, but inventories are low, lead time become longer and many are facing shortage of material.
All companies are dealing with substantial price increases for raw materials, from aluminium, steel, plastic, ... to packaging and wooden pallets. As well as logistic (transport costs), which register a significant cost increase due to the COVID pandemic. Every buyer or purchasing manager have recently been interested with price increases, and really no one reports price decrease.
This situation is affecting all industries and the complete supply chain and don't appear to be slowing down.
Automotive and electronic sector is facing a Semiconductor shortage, which force some manufacturers to slow down or cut production. Officials at Volkswagen, Ford, Fiat Chrysler, Toyota and Nissan all say they have been hit by the shortage and been forced to delay production of some models in order to keep other factories running.
DUSA would like to invite you to attend this workshop. The keynote speaker, Dr. Martin Lockstrom will present his opinion on:
- trend of cost increase of most common raw material;
- cases of real problems happen in the market.
In the panel discussion, three panelists from different industry: special storage solution, agriculture tracks and automotive industry, will share with us their strategies to overcome the challenge and experience to face the situation.
